The Chatham Light and the Overlook across the street have many fascinating stories to tell. We have used this area to tell some of Chatham’s history of the coastline and waters around Chatham. Unlike other sites on the eTour, some of these locations are impossible to visit, because events happened out at sea, or because time and the sea have not allowed some of these historic places to survive. Extra pins in the eTour map have been used to mark the approximate locations where some of these stories took place – look for map pins marked with the site number plus an extra letter (a, b, c, ..).

The Historic Loop eTour continues on Bridge Street, which leaves the area just south of the Coast Guard compound. The next mile or more has no sidewalks, so please use care. The Bridge Street Intro will come up as the next site after all the individual eTour locations in the Lighthouse area.
